Microsoft stellt jetzt schon am Monatsanfang für Office Updates bereit und daran muss ich mich auch noch gewöhnen. Im den Juli Updates findet sich auch wieder ein Update für den Groove Synchronisations-Client. Für diejenigen, die meinen Blog nicht abonniert haben, die Groove.exe benötigen Sie für die Synchronisation zu SharePoint Groups und SharePoint Teamsites. Microsoft has published with KB3115163 another update for the “old” Synchronization Client Groove.exe. Last month I have written here, that we have to explain a little time with Groove.exe. But we see light on the end of the tunnel (end of year 2016) for the Office 365 Users, although the on SharePoint premise users have to wait a little bit longer. So you should install this new patch. Auch im Juni hat Microsoft mit KB3115163 ein weiteres Update für den “alten” Synchronisations-Client Groove.exe zur Verfügung gestellt. Wie schon im letzten Monat geschrieben, müssen wir uns noch eine Weile mit der Groove.exe auseinander setzten. Während für die SharePoint Online Benutzer ein Licht am Ende des Tunnels zu sehen ist (Jahres-Ende 2016), müssen sich die “onPremise” Benutzer von SharePoint noch ein wenig länger gedulden. [Update] siehe hier Seit mehr als 1 Monat gibt es ein neues Beta-Programm bei Microsoft, bei dem es den Teilnehmern bis zum gestrigen Tag untersagt wurde, darüber auch nur ein Wort zu verlieren. Hier geht’s um Synchronisierung. Synchronisierung vom Client zu SharePoint Team Sites und zu OneDrive for Business. und einer Roadmap Ja, da gibt es schon was Neues. Um es vorweg zu nehmen. So since some days Microsoft has released new features on SharePoint Online. The overall storage on SharePoint Online is increasing. If you look on the Microsoft Office Roadmap there are still the old numbers: And now, it’s a huge difference: The allover tenant storage is increasing from 10 GB to 1 TB. Speichervolumen SharePoint Online angehoben

Seit gestern ist es soweit. Ohne große Ankündigung. Aber endlich ist es soweit. Das Speicher-Volumen auf SharePoint-Online wurde angehoben. Auf der Office Roadmap stehen noch die alten Zahlen: Das ist ein gewaltiger Unterschied. Das Grundvolumen wurde von 10 GB auf 1 TB. Zusätzlich muss man noch einige Dinge beachten: So stehen jetzt nicht nur wesentlich mehr Speichervolumen zur Verfügung, und die Diskussionen , ich mach das mit OneDrive for Business, da habe ich doch 1 TB Speichervolumen, werden weniger werden. NGSC and Windows 8.1 So I have written in this Blog Post, that Windows 8.1 Users are not able to use the Next Generation Sync Client. Yesterday there was a YamJam on the Office 365 Network on Yammer. NGSC und Windows 8.1 in diesem Blog Post habe ich geschrieben, dass Benutzer mit dem Betriebssystem Windows 8.1 den Next Generation Sync Client noch nicht benutzen können. Im gestrigen YamJam auf dem Office365 Network von Yammer  hat Microsoft Manager Reuben Krippner die zeitlichen Pläne konkretisiert: PreRelease Anfang März 2016 Release Ende März   Synchronisation von IRM geschützten Bibliotheken Der NGSC kann keine IRM geschützte Bibliotheken synchronisieren. Das steht auch in der Dokumentation. Next Generation Sync Client | ready for Enterprise?

The answer is: Yes and No. Today. The Next Generation Sync Client is not available for all operating systems. Also it is not ready for all SharePoint storages. You have no chance to connect to SharePoint on Premise, neither to SharePoint Online ( Team sites and Groups). So I have written about that here.
