OneDrive for Business | new navigation in Shared Libraries

Microsoft is currently changing the navigation in OneDrive (for Business). This should be completed by the end of the month (July 2020). You can see the result in the picture above.   What did it look like before? the difference is minimal. Until now, you had to click on "additional libraries" in the left navigation to display additional libraries. This is no longer necessary. All libraries are always displayed. Makes sense. OneDrive for Business | neue Navigation bei Shared Libraries

Microsoft ändert derzeit die Navigation bei OneDrive (for Business). Dies soll dann bis zum Monatsende (Juli 2020) abgeschlossen sein. Das Ergebnis sieht man im obigen Bild.   Wie sah es denn vorher aus? der Unterschied ist minimal. Bisher musste man in der linke Navigation auf “weitere Bibliotheken” klicken, um zusätzliche Bibliotheken anzuzeigen. Das fällt jetzt weg. Es werden immer alle Bibliotheken angezeigt. Macht Sinn. OneDrive Personal – Fetch Files

As of 31.7.2020, the fetch files via OneDrive Personal will come to an end. I always mentioned it during my workshops: prohibit OneDrive Personal through group policies if OneDrive Personal is allowed, „prohibit fetch files remotely“ via Group Policy Again: This applies only to OneDrive Personal (Consumer). OneDrive Personal – Abrufen von Dateien

Zum 31.7.2020 ist Schluss mit dem Abrufen von Dateien über OneDrive Personal. Bei meinen Workshops habe ich es immer erwähnt: OneDrive Personal durch Gruppennrichtlinien untersagen wenn OneDrive gestattet, Abrufen von Dateien per Gruppenrichtlinie untersagen Nochmal: Das gilt nur für OneDrive Personal (Consumer). Und ab dem nächsten Monat wird diese Sicherheitslücke geschlossen. Gut,  Microsoft verkauft das mit anderen Worten: “Es wurde zu wenig benutzt”. Probleme mit SharePoint Online

Seit Tgen kann man Meldungen in diversen Sozialen Kanälen lesen, dass Kunden bei Speichern von Dateien in OneDrive for Business und SharePoint Online diverse Probleme haben. Ich bin bis gestern damit verschont geblieben, dann hat es mich aber auch erwischt. Für unseren MVPKaffeeklatsch tauschen Raphael Köllner und ich Dateien aus. Ich habe dazu über “mit mir geteilt” den Ordner auch lokal synchronisieren lassen. Dann kann ich die fertigen Dateien nach dem Schnitt mit Camtasia einfach per Drag&Drop zu Raphael synchronisieren. OneDrive for Business – Add Shortcut to my files

At the beginning I didn’t know what this function would bring me, because I still belong to the generation "I work with the native apps and with the File Explorer" and don’t want to switch to the browser all the time. Because while I’m writing this blog post, I have 23 tabs of content open. But maybe it’s "Old fashioned". Mir war am Anfang nicht klar, was mir diese Funktion bringen würde, denn ich gehöre noch zur Generation “Ich arbeite mit den nativen Apps und mit dem File Explorer” und möchte nicht immer zum Browser wechseln. Denn da habe ich, währen ich diesen Blog Post schreibe, 23 Tabs mit Inhalten offen. Aber vielleicht sehe ich das “Old fashioned”. MVP Award – 8 times in a row

For the 8th time in a row I was awarded the MVP Award by Microsoft in the category Office Apps and Services.  As in previous years, I feel honored. Many thanks also to the community around the Planenten, without whom this would not be possible. 8 years, that is 2920 days, 70080 hours or 4204800 minutes. That’s a long time.     Zum 8.
