It’s curious. Last Thursday was the time, where Updates to “Groove.exe” should be found in WSUS. But there are not. Perhaps the Microsoft people, responsible for this are on vacation or Microsoft has no capacity on their Servers through the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. Etwas kurios ist es schon. Am Dienstag sollte das Update zu Groove.exe eigentlich im WSUS auftauchen. Ist es aber nicht. Vielleicht ist der zuständige Microsoft Mitarbeiter im Urlaub oder aber man hat dem Ansturm auf die Microsoft Server mit dem Windows 10 Anniversary Update Rechnung getragen…. Ohne Ankündigung im Change-Log kam für Windows 10 Benutzer eine neue Version mit der Nummer: 17.3.6487.0616 17.3.6390.0509  11.5.2016 Dies war ein Update, hauptsächlich für Windows 8.1, was ich hier beschrieben habe. Windows 10 Benutzer, die noch auf auf der Version 17.3.6386.0412 waren, bekamen dieses Update nicht automatisch. Windows 10 wurde jedoch jetzt auf die neue Version auf 17.3.6487.0616 umgestellt. 17.3.6487.0616 16.07.2016 Das sind immerhin 178 Minor Steps. Ich habe auf meinem Windows 10 PC noch die alte Version 17.3.6386.0412 installiert gehabt, und diese Version  wurde jetzt auch ohne manuelles Eingreifen auf die Version 17.3.6487.0616 angehoben. Office 365 Benutzer bekommen (unaufgefordert) eine Mail, die die Umstellung des alten Synchronisierungs-Client “Groove.exe” auf den Client der nächsten Generation vorbreiten soll. Es kann jedoch sein, dass manche mit “…einen neuen Synchronisierungsclient…”  etwas verwirrt sind. Schon wieder ein neuer Client? Die wichtigste Passage (1) habe ich gelb markiert. Hintergrund: Mit der Entwicklung des Next Generation Sync Clients hat Microsoft die Logik umgekehrt. Microsoft stellt jetzt schon am Monatsanfang für Office Updates bereit und daran muss ich mich auch noch gewöhnen. Im den Juli Updates findet sich auch wieder ein Update für den Groove Synchronisations-Client. Für diejenigen, die meinen Blog nicht abonniert haben, die Groove.exe benötigen Sie für die Synchronisation zu SharePoint Groups und SharePoint Teamsites. Microsoft has published with KB3115163 another update for the “old” Synchronization Client Groove.exe. Last month I have written here, that we have to explain a little time with Groove.exe. Auch im Juni hat Microsoft mit KB3115163 ein weiteres Update für den “alten” Synchronisations-Client Groove.exe zur Verfügung gestellt. Wie schon im letzten Monat geschrieben, müssen wir uns noch eine Weile mit der Groove.exe auseinander setzten. Während für die SharePoint Online Benutzer ein Licht am Ende des Tunnels zu sehen ist (Jahres-Ende 2016), müssen sich die “onPremise” Benutzer von SharePoint noch ein wenig länger gedulden. Microsoft has released a new Version of the Next Generation Sync Client. It is the the 4th version of the NGSC with the version 17.3.6390.0509. So the change log only tells us, that there were 2 critical bug fixes: Fixed an issue where OneDrive was incorrectly detecting that Personal Sync had been disabled on Windows 8.1. Fixed an issue that sometimes caused files that were opened by Office to stop syncing. Where Do I get the new Version? Seit dem 16.05.2016 ist die neue Universal App für Windows 10 (Desktop und Mobile) von Microsoft im Store abrufbar. Die Version zeigt 17.10.1. als Versionsnummer.
