Ich wurde schon des Öfteren gefragt: Muss ich den Registrierungsschlüssel TeamSiteSyncPreview im Client setzen, um auf Dokumentenbibliotheken von SharePoint Teamsites oder Groups in Office 365 mit meinem lokalen Windows Client zu synchronisieren? Nachdem Microsoft am 14.03.17 die globale Verfügbarkeit des Produktes Microsoft Teams bekannt gegeben hat, sollte ich auch einmal etwas darüber schreiben. Nein, nicht über Microsoft Teams. Such man Einschränkungen oder Limits zum Next Generation Snyc Client bekommt man sehr viele Informationen, selbst wenn man sich auf die Microsoft Seiten beschränkt. Da selbst die Microsoft Seiten kein Datum tragen, nicht jeder in HTML reinschauen möchte und HTML lesen kann,ist es sehr schwierig, das richtige zu finden. Denn eine Pflege der Seiten, mit Links zu neuen, wird nicht oder nur in Ausnahmefällen betrieben. Microsoft has pressed the button. Silently and secretly. I’ve been waiting two days, but until today Microsoft has not published a change log. I have received isolated messages after the update of Next Generation Sync Client (NGSC). After the update and the first start, the NGSC has crashed. For me the NGSC has automatically raised on three different devices to version 17.3.6798.0207 and I have no problems with Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Still und heimlich hat Microsoft auf den Knopf gedrückt. Ich habe jetzt zwei Tage gewartet, aber bis heute hat Microsoft kein Change-Log veröffentlicht. Ich habe vereinzelt  Meldungen erhalten, dass nach dem Update der Next Generation Sync Client (NGSC) gestartet und sich sofort verabschiedet hat. Bei mir hat sich der NGSC an drei verschiedenen Geräten automatisch auf die Version 17.3.6798.0207 angehoben und ich habe unter Windows 8.1 und Windows 10 keine Probleme. Wie schon öfter beschrieben, wird der NGSC automatisch auf eine neue Version angehoben, wenn Microsoft auf den Knopf drückt. Das Jahr 2016 geht zu Ende. Und für dieses Jahr hatte ich keine Wunschliste geschrieben. Meine letzte Wunschliste stammt vom 31.12.2014. Und meine damaligen Wünsche wurde fast alle erfüllt. Zum Jahresabschluß Geahnt habe ich es. Dafür sind noch zu viele Fehler im Next Generation Sync Client. Licht ins Dunkel zu bringen? Beim Next Generation Sync Client? Das ist nicht so einfach. Aber der Reihe nach: Wenn Microsoft eine neue Version des Next Generation Sync Clients veröffentlicht, wird dieser nicht für alle Benutzer freigegeben. Das hat schon seine Richtigkeit, wir befinden uns mit dem Synchronisations-Client immer noch in der PreView-Phase. seit dem 1.Dezember 2016 wird jetzt auf wesentlich breiterer Ebene die nächste Version des Next Generation Snyc Client (NGSC) ausgerollt. Diese Version trägt die Nummer 17.3.6705.1122. Und wie man sieht, ist es schon an der Optik zu sehen, das sich was geändert hat. Aus RGB 9 74 177 wurde RGB 0 12 215. Gut, das interessiert keinen. Aber es gibt auch neue Symbole.   Hinter dem neuen Symbol (Tenant Name ohne OneDrive) verbergen sich lokal synchronisierte Dateien aus Dokument-Bibliotheken in Office 365.
