In July 2024, I reported on this in the German M365 News Show. Unfortunately, it still contained errors. I reported these to the Microsoft OneDrive group in Redmond. Then the sharing was withdrawn. The automatic closing of links has always been on the wish list of administrators. Because a closed link, or rather a link that no longer leads to the target, is one less vulnerability. Das sich Links automatisch Schließen, stand schon immer auf der Wunschliste der Administratoren. Denn ein geschlossener Link, oder sagen wir besser, ein Link, der nicht mehr zum Ziel führt, ist eine Angriffslücke weniger. Aber, das hatten wir doch schon? Ja, aber nur beim anonymen „externen“ Link. Wenn es die Administratoren überhaupt zugelassen haben, konnten sie eine zeitliche Beschränkung für das anonyme Teilen vorgeben. Das maximale waren 730 Tage, also 2 Jahre.In Workshops erwähne ich das auch immer, allerdings schlage ich wesentlich kürzere Zeiten vor. Ich selbst habe als Administrator 80 Tage vorgegeben. Nach der Premiere durch Microsoft zur Build 2024 erfolgte der Aufschrei von einigen Experten und solchen die sich Experten nennen, aber nur nachgeplappert haben. Es ging um Sicherheitsbedenken und die waren nicht ganz von der Hand zu weisen. Aber Microsoft hat zwei Mal nachgelegt. Was bedeutet unterschiedliche Ergebnisse? Ja, ich weiß: Wenn Microsoft eine Funktion ausrollt, dann kann es bis zu 21 Tage dauern, bis der letzte Benutzer von Microsoft 365 das Ergebnis hat. Wenn nicht…Ja, wenn nicht Microsoft nach dem Rollout, und das sind nur wenige Prozent, auf die Bremse drückt und den Rollout stoppt. So ein kompletter Rollout kann schon mal 21 Tage dauern, auch ohne einen Stop. Ich weiß, der Vergleich hinkt, aber läßt sich an einem Film, den viele gesehen haben, gut erklären.
