seit dem 1.Dezember 2016 wird jetzt auf wesentlich breiterer Ebene die nächste Version des Next Generation Snyc Client (NGSC) ausgerollt. Diese Version trägt die Nummer 17.3.6705.1122. Und wie man sieht, ist es schon an der Optik zu sehen, das sich was geändert hat. Aus RGB 9 74 177 wurde RGB 0 12 215. Gut, das interessiert keinen. Aber es gibt auch neue Symbole.   Hinter dem neuen Symbol (Tenant Name ohne OneDrive) verbergen sich lokal synchronisierte Dateien aus Dokument-Bibliotheken in Office 365. Der Next Generation Sync Client wird automatisch auf die neuste Version umgestellt. Sollte die automatische Umstellung nicht funktionieren, so kann man sich hier die neuste Version herunterladen. Hier das Microsoft Changelog zu den einzelnen Veröffentlichungen. Da diese Tabellen einen sehr großen Aufwand bedeuten, und die meisten Benutzer die englische Version des Artikels betrachten, habe ich mich entschlossen, nur noch die englische Version zu pflegen. Microsoft hat hier eine neue Version der Preview des Next Generation Sync Client veröffentlicht und diese kann heruntergeladen werden. Die Version trägt die Nummer 17.3.6674.1021 Diese Version wird nicht automatisch installiert, das muss man selbst durchführen. Update 7.11.16 Ich habe von einem Partner die Information erhalten, dass bei ihm die neue Version automatisch upgedatet wurde. Ich werde immer wieder gefragt, ob man die Preview des Next Generation Sync Client schon im produktiven Umfeld einsetzen kann. Diese Frage kann man nicht mit einem generellen Ja oder Nein beantworten. In den früheren Tagen gab es noch Beta-Software. Und damals wie heute gab es noch Bugs in der Beta Software. Naming Convention in Explorer with the Next Generation Sync Client

If you use the Preview Version of the Next Generation Sync Client, you also should be familiar with the Naming Convention in the Windows Explorer. All pictures are made with the Preview Version 17.3.6642.0922 of the NGSC. (If you want to install this version, read here) But you must note, that all changes, you will do in Office 365, like renaming the tenant name or team sites or Groups do not reflect in the Windows Explorer. Wer schon mit der Preview des Next Generation Sync Client arbeitet, muss sich auch mit der Namenkonvention im Explorer vertraut machen. Die nachstehenden Abbildungen und Beschreibungen beziehen sich auf die Preview Version 17.3.6642.0922 des Next Generation Sync Clients (Installation habe ich hier beschrieben) Grundsätzlich ist es so, dass Änderungen an Namen in Gruppen, Team- Websites oder direkt am Tenant keine Änderungen bei der Synchronisation hervorrufen. Am 05.08.16 habe ich über die Version 17.3.6514.0720 über den Next Generation Sync Client (NGSC) geschrieben und viele Mitteilungen über unterschiedliche sozialen Netzwerke erhalten, dass diese auf Ihrem Rechner nicht automatisch updaten würde. Und von der offiziellen Microsoft OneDrive Download Seite war bis gestern nur die Version 17.3.6390.0509 zum Download angeboten worden. Wie schon an anderer Stelle erwähnt, unterliegt der Update-Mechanismus weder den offiziellen Updates noch der Click 2 Run (C2R) Methoden von Office, sondern hat seine eigenen Update-Methoden. Ohne Ankündigung im Change-Log kam für Windows 10 Benutzer eine neue Version mit der Nummer: 17.3.6487.0616 17.3.6390.0509  11.5.2016 Dies war ein Update, hauptsächlich für Windows 8.1, was ich hier beschrieben habe. Windows 10 Benutzer, die noch auf auf der Version 17.3.6386.0412 waren, bekamen dieses Update nicht automatisch. Windows 10 wurde jedoch jetzt auf die neue Version auf 17.3.6487.0616 umgestellt. 17.3.6487.0616 16.07.2016 Das sind immerhin 178 Minor Steps. Ich habe auf meinem Windows 10 PC noch die alte Version 17.3.6386.0412 installiert gehabt, und diese Version  wurde jetzt auch ohne manuelles Eingreifen auf die Version 17.3.6487.0616 angehoben.
