2021 Recap

The year 2021 is coming to an end. And it’s time to let the year go by again. In short, it would look like this. 28 conferences and meetups. Been everywhere except the Australian continent, not in person but virtually. I talked via OneDrive as almost always. About the bot. About artificial intelligence. Typical scenario: I was at a customer site. I had previously marked my presentation stored in OneDrive for Business as „always available“. This is necessary because I have enabled „Files on Demand“ and also implemented a group policy that checks all „Locally Available“ at certain intervals and converts them to „Cloud only“ if necessary. Typisches Szenario: Ich war bei einem Kunden vor Ort. Ich hatte vorher meine in OneDrive for Business gespeicherte Präsentation als „immer verfügbar“ gekennzeichnet. Das ist notwendig, weil ich „Dateien auf Abruf“ aktiviert habe und auch eine Gruppenrichtlinie implementiert habe, die in bestimmten Zeitabständen alle „Lokal verfügbare“ überprüft und gegebenenfalls in „nur in der Cloud verfügbar“ umwandelt. On the Microsoft OneDrive blog, Ankita Kirti has published a Blog post that has some users frowning. First, there is a new version for MAC users that shows version 21.239.1118.0001 as a standalone. Some comments show that you may have to uninstall the App Store version first, then download the OneDrive package from Microsoft with version 21.220.1024.0005, and then opt-in to the PrewView versions (Insider). Auf dem Microsoft OneDrive Blog hat Ankita Kirti einen Beitrag veröffentlicht, der bei manchen Benutzern für Stirnrunzeln sorgt. Da wäre zum Einen eine neue Version für MAC Benutzer, der die Version 21.239.1118.0001 als Standalone zeigt. Einige Kommentare zeigen, dass man unter Umständen die App Store Version zuerst deinstallieren muss, dann das OneDrive Package von Microsoft mit der Version 21.220.1024.0005 herunterladen muss, um anschließend ein OptIn zu den PrewView Versionen (Insider) durchzuführen. Schon seit dem Start der Entwicklung des Community Bot for OneDrive kämpfen wir mit der visuellen Ausgabe. Zum Einen mit der visuellen Ausgabe der Antwort im Qna Maker, die mit Markdown beschrieben ist. Apps in Microsoft Teams werden bei den meisten Organisationen von der Administration geblockt. Auch wenn Microsoft bei den Apps strenge Regeln anlegt, wird bei einigen Apps Zugriff auf z.B das Active Directory notwendig. Das ist den Benutzern aber nicht klar und somit bleibt den Administratoren nur der Weg: Ausschalten. Der Benutzer bekommt dann nichts zu sehen. Kann aber auch nichts installieren. Dabei haben sich einige Entwickler der mittlerweile über 1100 Apps für Teams  richtig Mühe gegeben und die eine oder andere App würden die Arbeitsweise der Benutzer verbessern. in a blog post from 2020 I wrote about the available OneDrive for Business storage. Because Microsoft had a major issue with OneDrive for Business at the end of August (OD280960), I tried to reduce my OneDrive storage manually using the option available in the Admin Center. OneDrive – 64 Bit final Version

With version 21.062.0328.0001, the first PreView of the OneDrive sync engine was made available by Microsoft at the beginning of April 2021. So, from that point on, there was a 32-bit version and a 64-bit version. However, the transition was gradual. I published an article about the 64 bit version. Mit der Version 21.062.0328.0001 wurde die erste PreView der Sync-Engine OneDrive Anfang April 2021 von Microsoft zur Verfügung gestellt. Ab diesem Zeitpunkt gab es also eine 32 Bit Version und eine 64 Bit Version. Der Übergang erfolgte jedoch schleichend. Ich habe über die 64 Bit Version eine Artikel veröffentlicht.
