OneDrive now in 64 Bit (Preview)

On 6 January 2021 I wrote about a prematurely leaked 64 bit version, now it is so far. Because two months later, Microsoft published the first PreView of a 64 bit variant 21.062.0328.0001 of the Next Generation Sync Client (OneDrive.exe) on 8 April 2021. Microsoft hat hier eine neue Version der Preview des Next Generation Sync Client veröffentlicht und diese kann heruntergeladen werden. Die Version trägt die Nummer 17.3.6674.1021 Diese Version wird nicht automatisch installiert, das muss man selbst durchführen. Update 7.11.16 Ich habe von einem Partner die Information erhalten, dass bei ihm die neue Version automatisch upgedatet wurde. Sometimes people asked me whether they should install the Preview Version of the Next Generation Sync Client in a productive environment. So my answer is: It depends. In the old days, Microsoft has called his early test versions “Beta”. Now they call it “Preview”. But that’s only a naming thing. Preview versions may have a bug. Ich werde immer wieder gefragt, ob man die Preview des Next Generation Sync Client schon im produktiven Umfeld einsetzen kann. Diese Frage kann man nicht mit einem generellen Ja oder Nein beantworten. In den früheren Tagen gab es noch Beta-Software. Und damals wie heute gab es noch Bugs in der Beta Software. Es hat lange gedauert. Aber am ersten Tag der Ignite in Atlanta hat Microsoft die Verfügbarkeit einer Preview Version des Next Generation Sync Client veröffentlicht, mit der es jetzt möglich ist, alle Dokumenten-Bibliotheken in Office 365 zu synchronisieren. Auf der Ignite Konferenz  wurde er angekündigt. Der NGSC. Der Next Generation Sync Client. Reuben Krippner zeigt die neue Version des Next Generation Sync Client.   Auf dem OneDrive Blog, der leider nur in englischer Sprache vorliegt, erfährt man auch noch die Neuerungen, die Einzug gehalten haben. Und wer mit Windows 10 arbeitet, der hat diesen Synchronisierungsdienst schon im Einsatz. I do not expect it so early. Microsoft has released a Preview Version of OneDrive for Business for MacOS. You may download it here. There also released a new App for iOS devices, here’s the link to download. Früher als erwartet hat Microsoft eine Preview für OneDrive for Business zum Download zur Verfügung gestellt. Auch für  iOS Geräte gibt es eine neue App, die hier zum Download zur Verfügung steht Außerdem stellt Reuben Krippner, Director für OneDrive for Business bei Microsoft, in einem Video die neuen Möglichkeiten vor. Reuben Krippner stellt die neuen Möglichkeiten mit iOS und MacOS vor.   Zu beachten ist jedoch, dass es sich beim MacOS um eine Preview handelt.
