OneDrive Community

The OneDrive community. How do you get there? What do you need to get there?
All this is explained in this article.
The OneDrive Community

Only time will tell whether Teams will establish itself as a new forum. While I attended two sessions on this very topic at the MVP Summit 2024 in Redmond USA at Microsoft, I still had my doubts. A meeting this week with people from the Microsoft environment was also about identity. And then we’re right in the middle of it.

Because we don’t use Microsoft Teams here (work or school), but Microsoft Teams Home. And there you can (currently) only log in with a private Account account (MSA).

No MSA account yet?

Don’t have an MSA account yet? Then you need to create one. There are 3 options, namely xxx@outlook.de xxx.outlook.com or xxx@hotmail.com.

When you create it, you get some things that you might need anyway.

Microsoft gives us free use of this account: Microsoft 365 apps for the Web, OneDrive Personal with 5 GB storage, Skype and of course email with calendar and contacts.

Namely an alternative address for emails, calendar and contacts, a OneDrive cloud storage (5GB), Microsoft 365 for the Web and Skype. Creating an account is very quick, remember the password.

Sign in to the OneDrive Community

1 Continue in this browser: Teams for Community also runs in the browser

2 Joining via the Teams app: The Teams app for Community is different from the Teams app for (work and school). It will take a few more weeks until both apps are merged. But: Currently, both apps are also running in parallel, but you should first carry out point 3

3 Download app: The Teams for Home app is downloaded and installed here.

Here you can discuss and exchange ideas about everything to do with OneDrive, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint document libraries, the sync app, Add To OneDrive, integration in Windows or OneDrive group policies.

When will I see you there?
