OneDrive: New naming convention for folder shortcuts

Coming soon:New naming logic for Microsoft OneDrive folder shortcuts. Microsoft will add the name of the user’s website or OneDrive to all new folder shortcuts. When this will happen: General Availability (Worldwide, GCC, GCC High, DoD): Micfrosoft will begin rolling out mid-March 2025 and expect to complete by mid-April 2025. Before this rollout, OneDrive shortcuts have the same name as the folder. After this rollout, the shortcut will also contain the name of the website on which the original folder is located. OneDrive: Neue Benennungskonvention für Ordnerverknüpfungen

Demnächst verfügbar: Neue Benennungslogik für Microsoft OneDrive Ordnerverknüpfungen. Microsoft wird den Namen der Website oder des OneDrive des Benutzers zu allen neuen Ordnerverknüpfungen hinzufügen. Wann dies geschehen wird: Allgemeine Verfügbarkeit (weltweit, GCC, GCC High, DoD): Microsoft wird Mitte März 2025 mit der Einführung beginnen und voraussichtlich bis Mitte April 2025 fertig sein. Vor diesem Rollout haben OneDrive-Verknüpfungen denselben Namen wie der Ordner. Nach diesem Rollout wird die Verknüpfung auch den Namen der Website enthalten, auf der sich der ursprüngliche Ordner befindet. OneDrive | File-Explorer and Move To OneDrive

With OneDrive Version  19.002.0121.0009 Microsoft has implemented a new feature: Move To OneDrive As you see, on this machine I have two OneDrive for Business (two different tenants) and one OneDrive Personal. If you right click inside the Windows File Explorer on a file, which is not synced, a menu pops up and if you then hoover over ‘Move to OneDrive’, the you see the destinations.  If you click on one of them, the file will be moved into the root of the destination.
