Windows 8.1 | not without Microsoft SkyDrive account, or is it?

It rubles in the community. The user really got only benefits, after Microsoft has built in SkyDrive into the explorer within Windows 8.1. The user hasn’t worry about anything. But to get SkyDrive data running on a PC, you have to login with the Microsoft account fka “Live ID”. And here is the crux…

Not everyone wants to register with a Microsoft account. There are several causes:

different passwords	long, stringent password for SkyDrive and a short one for the Windows OS
Distrust of Microsoft	"Microsoft otherwise always know when and where and to what computer I’m login"
Log on to a domain	Log on a corporate network

this list goes on and on.

With Windows 8.1 now there is the problem: If a user signs up with a local account, then he has no chance to connect with SkyDrive, except of course via the Web browser. And the old SkyDrive client can not be installed.

And Microsoft writes on his Webpages, that this is no longer possible.

I then have the question: What’s about a domain connected PC?

After login to my company’s domain and starting the explorer, you will nothing see about SkyDrive

Jump to the PC Settings (Charms menu, Settings, PC settings), then click on SkyDrive

You have to click to “Connect with a Microsoft account”

	you now may start…
	at this page you have to give the information about you Microsoft account (fka Live-ID) Within Microsoft OS Windows 8.x it is no longer possible to have more than one SkyDrive Account, although it is not possible to change your SkyDrive account. Within OS Windows 7 it was possible, to change your SkyDrive Account, but this is not longer possible.
	Security, Security, Security: If you give Microsoft during registration of you SkyDrive account your telephone number, then you may asked, if its right, that you can receive a security code, to verify your identity You will receive an SMS and give in the 7 digit code
	All done.
	This PC, connected to your domain will joined with the next click with your SkyDrive Account. last change to cancel

and you now see your SkyDrive storage

If you start your explorer, you see, that SkyDrive syncs your data. (the folder structure)

Urgent: By default all data are only shown with the smart technology, which means they are not synchronized with your device. (Online Only)

There is one more question:

Why Microsoft denied this technique for "local" accounts?

Jetzt versteh ich gar nichts mehr. Wenn ich obige Technik anwende, muss ich mich dann auch am Rechner mit dem Microsoft Konto anmelden? Hört sich ja fast so an. Dann kann ich mir doch auch gleich das Konto mit einem Microsoft Account einrichten. Oder hab ich etwas übersehen? Wo ist der Unterschied?

  Es gibt 3 Möglichkeiten für Windows 8.1:
  lokales Konto -> keine (nachträgliche) Einbindung von SkyDrive
  Anmelden mit dem Microsoft Account: SkyDrive im OS integriert
  für Firmen-Rechner: Anmelden an der Domain der Firma, spätere SkyDrive Integration möglich (sofern der Admin nichts dagegen hat)

    OK. Es geht mir primär um meinen eigenen Rechner. Das war ein Windows 8 Laptop mit Windows 8 Home Premium (Also ohne Domäne). Der war von Anfang an ohne Microsoft Konto eingerichtet. Kurze Zeit später kam das normale Update auf 8.1, ich habe alles beim lokalen Konto belassen. Ich habe bereits SkyDrive versucht, dazu muss ich aber den Adminaccount auf dem Rechner in ein Microsoft Konto ändern. Ich habe das allerdings wieder rückgängig gemacht, da ich mich sonst meiner Meinung nach unterwegs ohne Netz nicht mehr anmelden kann (wenn doch sagt mir wie das gehen soll). Wenn obiger Weg mit meiner Windows Home Version unter 8.1 auch geht und ich mich dann immer noch mit dem lokalen Konto am Rechner anmelden kann (und die Verknüpfung zum Microsoft Konto nur im Hintergrund stattfindet), wäre das die Lösung für mich. Aber ich fürchte genau das geht eben nicht…

    Eine Anmeldung mit Microsoft Account benötigt nur bei der Installation Internet. Danach kann man sich auch ohne Internet-Vebindung anmelden. Es ist die gleiche Prozedur, die bei Firmen-Rechner angewendet wird, bei der der Versuch beim Anmelden unternommen wird, mit der Domäne das Passwort zu „vergleichen“. Keine Verbindung zur Domäne, wird das gecachte und lokal abgelegte Passwort „verglichen“. Ihre Aussage ist somit falsch. Umwandeln und Microsoft Konto, dann geht auch SkyDrive. Kein Internet, trotzdem ist eine Anmeldung möglich

    Ich arbeite mit meinem Surface mit dem Microsoft Konto oftmals ohne Internet (z.B. Flug nach USA)
    Natürlich kann ich auf SkyDrive Daten, die ich nicht Offline (Standard ist ONLINE) synchronisert habe, nicht zugreifen, ich sehe z.B. das Bild, dank Smartfiles-Technologie https://hansbrender.wordpress.com/2013/10/03/skydrive-smart-files-fr-windows-8-1/ das Bild, habe aber keinen Zugriff.

    Kein Zugriff ist blöd. Ich hätte die Files ja wenigstens gern im Sync. Klar hab ich dann unter Umständen nicht mehr die aktuellste Version aber immerhin hab ich die zuletzt synchronisierte Version. Das sollte ja vermutlich gewährleistet sein. Der nächste Sync und damit die neuen Versionen hab ich ja dann wieder sobald ich ein Netz verfügbar habe. Ansonsten wäre das ja alles völlig sinnlos und fast ein Rückschritt in die Steinzeit 🙂

    hhhm, ich habe 222 GB auf SkyDrive, aber 96 GB auf dem Surface, da kann ich nicht alles synchronisieren. Es gibt unterschiedliche Situationen…

    Ja klar, das ist hier nicht anders, auch wenn ich nicht soviel Speicher hab. Dafür gab es ja den selektiven Sync im alten Client. Ich brauchte eigentlich nur mein Dokumente Verzeichnis und meine KeePass Datenbank. Aber die müssen halt synchron sein.
    
    BTW: Sorry aber hab dir eine Mail geschickt, weil ich noch Fragen hab und ich hoffe in dir einen Ansprechpartner gefunden zu haben. Insbesondere meine Kalenderfrage wäre mir sehr sehr wichtig. Danke schon mal im Voraus.
