Es ist wieder einmal so weit. Microsoft hat die Renominierung der MVPs (Microsoft Value  Professionals) bekannt gegeben. Es ist jedes Jahr spannend.

Bin ich dabei?
Habe ich genug für die Community getan?
Hätte ich doch auf neue Produkte setzen sollen?

Und natürlich bleiben dann einige auf der Strecke. Das mag bedauerlich sein, und manchmal sind es auch gesundheitliche Probleme. Oder Umstände in der Familie, den Verwandten, der Job. Diese Liste lässt sich beliebig fortsetzen.

Aber wenn man ein paar Jahre dabei ist, sieht man es gelassen. Und wenn man zudem noch ein wenig älter ist, umso mehr.

Aber dann ist sie da: die E-Mail.  Freude. Ein weiteres Jahr in diesem Illustren Kreis.

Und dann kommen die Danksagungen. Und man folgt und freut sich mit den vielen, die man kennt. Persönlich, aber auch nur Online.

Ich habe mich in diesem Jahr ab und an auch kritisch zum Produkt OneDrive geäußert. Und ich stehe dazu.  Manchmal wurde über das Ziel hinausgeschossen. Aber auch auf dem MVP Summit in diesem Jahr hatte ich eine persönliche Session im 6. Stock auf dem Microsoft Campus und ein Dutzend Anklage-Punkte vorgetragen.

Durch das Jahr über aber auch viele Fehler direkt gemeldet. Und an dieser Stelle muss ich einmal Danke sagen, dass Gaia Carini aus dem OneDrive Produktteam sich den vielen Kleinigkeiten von meiner Seite annimmt. Danke auch an Chef dieser Truppe, Jason Moore.

Und die vielen, weiteren Microsoft Mitarbeitern, mit denen ich immer in Kontakt bin.

Ach ja, es sind jetzt 13 Jahre. Und ein weiteres will ich noch dranhängen. Was meint Ihr?

It’s that time of year again. Microsoft has announced the renomination of MVPs (Microsoft Value Professionals). It’s exciting every year.

Am I on the list?
Have I done enough for the community?
Should I have focused on new products?

And, of course, some people fall by the wayside. That may be unfortunate, and sometimes it’s due to health problems. Or circumstances in the family, relatives, or job. The list goes on and on.

But when you’ve been around for a few years, you take it in stride. And when you’re a little older, even more so.

But then it arrives: the email. Joy. Another year in this illustrious circle.

And then come the thank-yous. And you follow and rejoice with the many people you know. Personally, but also just online.

I have also occasionally expressed criticism of the OneDrive product this year. And I stand by that. Sometimes I went too far. But at this year’s MVP Summit, I also had a personal session on the 6th floor on the Microsoft Campus and presented a dozen points of criticism.

Throughout the year, I also reported many errors directly. And at this point, I have to say thank you to Gaia Carini from the OneDrive product team for taking care of the many little things on my part. Thanks also to the head of this team, Jason Moore.
And, of course: Alice Piras

And the many Microsoft employees with whom I am always in contact.

Oh yes, it’s been 13 years now. And I want to add another one. What do you think?
