Colored folders
It was the wish of many users when the colored folders were implemented in the browser view in OneDrive for Business: We would like to have the color for the folders in Windows as well. And tonight, just in time for the weekend, and with a precision landing of 3 months, they have reached me: Colored folders in Windows 11 (but also in Windows 10):

These are the same folders that we were able to create in OneDrive for Business:

If the user assigns a color to a folder in OneDrive for Business in the browser, this is then forwarded to the corresponding folder in Explorer in Windows. And this also works in the other direction. However, this also means that synchronization, i.e. OneDrive For Business, must be started.
The folder colors are retained even if you do not have an Internet connection.
I don’t currently know exactly which requirements are necessary. I will submit these later:
Operating system: Windows 10, Windows 11
OneDrive: Currently only OneDrive for Business is supported
[Update 08/25/24]
You need OneDrive Version 24.161.0811.0001, to get Colored Folders. This Version (right now) is a Version from the Insider Ring. If you are on the Production Ring, you have to wait until next automatic update. If you have a folder set to a different color in MyFiles (in the Browser) you see it direct in then Browser, means you do not have to do anything.
[Update 08/28/24]
The requirements on the client side, i.e. OneDrive, were specified by the product group: Minimum is OneDrive version 24.132.0701.xxxx. This is a deferred ring, and that makes sense. There is also a Microsoft roadmap entry, with the rollout scheduled for September 2024. Currently, users of the OneDrive Insider Ring are gradually receiving the versions. The OneDrive product group has asked me for feedback, which has not only been positive. But I will share this in a separate blog post
