OneDrive | Vacation Mode
Granted, I’m one of the few, which sync multiple libraries from more than one Office 365 tenant. On one of my devices, there are really three blue (OneDrive for Business) and one white (OneDrive Personal) cloud icon in the notification area of Windows.
During my last three-week vacation in Alaska, Canada, but also in the greater Seattle area, I had the problem of finding only some bad hotspots (narrow bandwidth) or only 3G or E reception on my smartphone. Sometimes no access to a carrier.
And because I’ve set up some directories to get everything, company files synced over bad connections too. On vacation, I did not want to know about it.
Unfortunately, there is no switch to turn off the OneDrive for Business instance individually. You can only sync for 2, 8 or 24 hours. And there is no time to stop syncing three tenants.
In Seattle, I talked to Jason Moore, one of the OneDrive group leaders, about this and a few other issues. And that’s why I’ve written a request via User Voice that only needs enough votes (votes). Maybe Microsoft will help. So with a few clicks from your side ….
By the way, I had no choice but to switch off OneDrive completely.
